Fantastic! I love how you tuned the drums by retriggering them at various rates

This is very beautiful, very moving melodies and atmospheric sounds

This is fantastic stuff, the intro is so gripping and I was hooked the whole way through, you're making some amazing stuff!

Metaljonus responds:

Thank you for the kind words homie! 🤘🏼

Dunno the original but this is really nice!

HazzMatt37 responds:

Thank you!

This is some great soundtrack music! Really beautiful... actually feel like it would work well as like, menu music for a fantasy game, like preparing for a battle. My only suggestion is that I reckon the drum pattern that comes in around the 1 minute mark, and then again around 2:30, and near the end again could be a bit louder and more energetic, perhaps doubled up (like there's a second, louder drummer for those bits). Oh yeah and I LOVE the vocal bits, lovely!

GrizzledMusician responds:

Thanks for your kind words and feedback! Since this track started off as me practicing the percussion parts specifically, your suggestion is much appreciated. Wasn’t a thought I had at the time, but now that you’ve suggested it I can hear how adding an extra part there could keep the energy up even though the intensity drops. Will keep that in mind in my future projects.

Thanks again :)

I like the stuff you're doing with weird meters/time signatures, and the proggy song structure, feels like a bit of a journey.

A coupla things to try working on: melodically it's a bit all over the place, and some of the melodies feel like they don't "resolve"... this is a tricky thing to get your head around but sometimes working within one or two basic scales can really help. I dunno how familiar you are with music theory stuff, it can be pretty daunting, if you want some good starting points flick me a message.

The other point to make is the sound design is very... claustrophobic, kinda suffocating... that can be a really good thing but I feel like if some more breathy, brighter and less compressed sounds creep in from time to time, that would really help. Like you're letting the listener breath a bit before sucking all the air out of the room a bit, and alternating between that. I can imagine the bits where the drums drop out getting really nice and open, airy and light sounding and then the drums come back and it's super dense and intense again.

Anyway, hope that's not too much of an essay haha! Definitely some interesting ideas here with a lot of potential :)

Caustic responds:

Thanks for your review! I worked hard to understand the complexity of this one! Ultimately I'm happy with how it turned out and it's easily my longest song!

I like the sorta hyperpop feel of this. Once the lead kicks in around 23 seconds in, it sounds really good, but to be honest, I don't think the beginning/build up is very engaging. Those initial elements sound great along with that lead but by themselves, they're a bit flat. This could almost work better if you start with the lead synth, then drop it and build up the rest, so the listener knows what awesomeness to expect later in the track.

BowTieGd responds:

thanks for the feedback :D i also think my intros could use work so i’ll focus on that next.

Awesome beats! It starts off really strong and has a nice amount of variation but it feels like it ends abruptly without really reaching any kind of climax...

mothlightx responds:

Very true! I feel like it would've been much more satisfying with some sort of climax like that. Thank you!

This is adorable and super catchy! Love it!

I like the wintery soundtracky vibe of this, almost feels like a Danny Elfman soundtrack but electronic. That crunchy bass that comes in around the middle is awesome! I feel like the drums could maybe a be a little more punchy but the bass sound is so powerful it kinda makes up for it

Kayoszx responds:

Thanks for the feedback, man, I dig that you're getting the vibes I was feeling. I agree about the drums, I'll sit down and see what I can do, I have plenty of time before I have the whole EP ready to go
